Here are answers to the most common questions we receive from cruise passengers and tourists.
WHAT DOCUMENTS DO i NEED TO BOOK A CRUISE?
You’ll need a valid passport for all passengers (I do suggest that you keep a certified copy thereof as well).
Children under 18 require an unabridged birth certificate. We’ll guide you through the full document checklist when you book through us.
Remember to ensure that you have your tickets in your hand luggage!
WHAT CABIN TYPES ARE AVALABLE?
Balcony Cabin
- Surface approx 13 sqm, Balcony approx 3 sqm, deck 9-10
- Sitting area with sofa
- Bathroom with shower, vanity area with hairdryer
- Comfortable double or single beds (on request)
- TV, telephone, Wifi connection available (for a fee), safe and minibar
Choose the cabin type that best suits you:
- Balcony Aurea (best ship positions, surface approx 13 sqm, deck 9-10)
- Junior Balcony (surface approx 13 sqm, deck 9-10)

How do group discounts work?
Shuttle transfers:
Groups of 12 or more receive a discount of 10%.
Cruise bookings:
Groups of 40+ passengers receive one complimentary cabin. Contact us for a custom quote.
What are the departure times of the buses?
N.B. MSC Cruises regulates the times that we are allowed to depart. These times can change at any time without notice!
Shuttle transfers from the airport:
Our coaches depart at 08:00. They are required to be 90% full minimum before they depart.
We usually depart on the hour every hour, but this frequency can change to a “fill up and go” basis.
On Mondays, the last bus will depart at 11:00
On Fridays, the last bus will depart at 10h00.
If you miss these times, we hold ourselves blameless for you missing your cruise, or having to fork out money for taxis.
Shuttle transfers from the Harbour:
Our coaches depart the harbour on a “fill up and go” basis from 06h30 with the last coach departing at 09:00 approx.
If you have an early departure flight, please ensure that you register at the ship’s reception to disembark FIRST and that you board the first coach that may even leave at 07:00 or later.
Departure times basically depend on how fast the ship can disembark!
How much luggage may I bring on the coach?
Luggage space on the coach is very limited.
Therefore, we allow 1 large bag and 1 piece of hand luggage per person.
An extra charge of R220 per bag applies to all excess luggage. This is because your excess luggage takes the space reserved for another passenger!
What if my flight is delayed?
If your flight is delayed for whatever reason, please call our controller on 072 874 0859 and advise him with an update upon your arrival at the Durban Airport.
We can delay the last bus by 20 minutes ONLY!
Should you miss the bus, we charge a 100% cancellation /no-show fee. We also do not accept any responsibility for you missing your cruise.
If the ship is in any way delayed with disembarking passengers, we accept no responsibility for missed flights. You need to claim from the MSC Travel policy.
